Originally founded in 1971 in Denmark, Flemming Hoejfeldt, began Innovation Living with a production of bean bags. During the 1980s, Hoejfeldt felt it was time to expand into designing convertible sofas, often called sofa sleepers. He sponsored a design competition among students at the School of Architecture in Aarhus. This decision opened the door to Innovation Living’s unique design. With convertible sofa collections becoming the main item Innovation Living was known for, their design and functionality far exceed expectations.
